Mountain View Farm

Mountain View Farm is a great example of how choice of camera makes an image. Through out my photography career I have always believed the choice of equipment and materials has a major influence on what and how you photograph something. A large format camera vs a compact cameras "polaroid" vs digital all impart a certain character to the image. Every different type of camera has a different process that effects the look of the photographs. How the artist approaches those characteristics is important.

My Olympus camera has setting to alter how colour and contrast are recorded in a way that I find exciting.

The actual colour of the barn was such more subtle. The light was flat and grey. It was the colour and texture that drew me to take the photograph. By knowing how the dramatic tone filter in the camera would render the colour I knew that it would make an interesting image.
